Introduction
PM 101 an education workshop run by professionals and experts within the industry on the practical aspects of property management.
Our workshop aims to give an oversight into how Management Companies work and how JMB/MC members, property managers, and building supervisors can work together to manage Strata Properties (Condominium or Gated Community) in the best way possible. It includes an overview into the Building Supervisor’s Role, basic Law as written into the Strata Management Acts of 2013 & 2015, basic accounting, giving an overview of the expenses incurred in running a Strata Property and covered by the Maintenance Fee and Sinking Fund, and Information Technology (IT), highlighting the relevance of IT in property management and how to incorporate it using Condo Master as an example.

Module One: Property Management
Mr. Mark Saw holds a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management from University of Greenwich, UK and a Diploma in Rural Estate Management from the Royal Agricultural University. He is a Registered Valuer and Estate Agent and Property Manager. He was awarded Property Manager of the Year in 2017 by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents & Property Managers Malaysia (BOVEAP), a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia, Fellow of the Institute of Estate Agents, Malaysian Institute of Professional Property Managers (MIPPM), and Association of Valuers, Property Managers Estate Agents and Property Consultants in the Private Sector, Malaysia (PEPS).Module Two: Accounts
Mr. Chan Wooi Keong graduated with a degree in accounting from Universiti Utara Malaysia and brings to various firms over 20 years of expertise in three worlds: the professional, industry and the academic. He was trained in BDO Binder and KPMG Peat Marwick as a Chartered Accountant in the practice of accounting, finance, tax and corporate secretarial work and was involved in due diligence exercise, corporate restructuring and reorganization before embarking in Securities and Jewellery Industry and currently a Legal Firm to oversee accounting and financing operations of the Group. Mr. Chan is also actively involved in academics, sharing his experience and knowledge with college students on an ad-hoc basis.Module Three: Information Technology
Mr. Ch’ng Ewe Lee graduated from the University of Science Malaysia in B.Sc Management - Finance & Economic. Ch'ng's journey in the IT industry commenced from mid-2014 when he joined as a Director and Co-Founder of Comet Catcher Sdn Bhd. Comet Catcher Sdn Bhd is a database and software company, which owns condo-master.com, a property management platform system and also redb-property.com - a real estate management platform system for developers and estate agents. He has given several talks on the use of IT in the property management sector to ensure seamless flow of information to the users and clients.Module Four: Legal
Mr. Lee Khai graduated from the University of Nottingham, England in 1992 and qualified as a Barrister at Lincoln’s Inn, England in 1993. He has been in active practice since 1994 and is the managing partner of Ong and Manecksha, Advocates and Solicitors in Penang. He handles corporate property, intellectual property and related civil litigation work. He frequently conducts seminars on various legal subjects and particularly in the area of property management. He is the Chairman of Charis Hospice and vice president of D’Home Mental Association. He Is also the Chairman of the Penang State Art Gallery and a board member of the Penang State Museum Board.Module One: Property Management
